October 21 live-music fashion event supporting breast
cancer awareness announced
September 13, 2011 (Washington, DC) —PINK JAMS! brings the Spring
2012 couture collection of Christian Siriano direct from the runways
of New York's Fashion Week to Washington, D.C. at the International
Trade Center in Washington, D.C on Friday, October 21.
The breast cancer awareness charity will present a live-music fashion
show, Pink Rocks the Runway™ (www.PinkRockstheRunway.com [4]),
which will mirror the Fashion Week experience featuring headliner and
Annapolis native, Siriano who will showcase his entire Spring/Summer
2012 collection on the runway. Also, fourteen of Washington, D.C.'s
hottest designers have created signature pink couture designs modeled
by young breast cancer survivors. In addition, a cadre of
celebrity/professional athletes will walk the runway showing their
support for breast cancer awareness.
"I am proud to collaborate with Pink Jams! to raise breast cancer
awareness for young women in the DC area. Pink Rocks the Runway will
be fun and fantastic. I am excited to come home and bring my entire
New York fashion show with me," said Siriano. "Our mission is to
raise breast cancer awareness for men and women under the age of 40.
One of the special aspects of this event are the evening's
models," says Christa Floresca, Founder of Pink Jams!, "these are
real women – breast cancer survivors all diagnosed before they were
40. Of course, we are thrilled that Christian is willing to lend his
name and collection to our efforts."
The event's sponsors include Bubbles Salon and Cibu (presenting
sponsors), Lifetime Television, Vitamin Water, Comcast Spotlight,
Gibson Guitar, Bayer Oynx, Belmont Reconstructive Surgery, Effen
Vodka, 105.9 The Edge, Mix 107.3, Dining in DC, Moshe Zusman
Photography, BB&T, Savoir Faire Media, Dirty Martini, and ASD
Consulting. Performing live will be Charm City Devils, praised by
Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx as "a real rock band". The Charm City
Devils, hailing from Baltimore, has recently toured with Motley Crue,
and opened for Bon Jovi. Lead singer John Allen's mother is a breast
cancer survivor.

$90 (General Admission) to over $250 (VIP access). The fashion show
is open to the community and is made possible through ticket sales,
sponsorships, and cash donations. All proceeds from Pink Rocks the
Runway™ will go to support Pink Jams! During the show's finale,
Pink Jams! will present a small grant to the Capital Breast Care
Center, who provides mammograms and screenings to DC area women
without insurance and the ability to pay. Event details can be found
