DETROIT — General Motors plans to introduce the production version of the new 2013 Cadillac XTS in November at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
GM said it planned to show the production XTS sedan with its new CUE infotainment system. CUE bundles a suite of infotainment, navigation and communication tools with an intuitive user interface, and debuts next year on Cadillac’s new ATS and XTS sedans and the SRX crossover.
The XTS was previewed at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, when GM unveiled the all-wheel-drive XTS Platinum Concept.
The XTS Platinum Concept had a 3.6-liter V6 direct-injection gasoline engine and plug-in hybrid propulsion system delivering an estimated 350 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
GM in August confirmed that the XTS would go into production in Oshawa, Ontario, in spring 2012, replacing the DTS as Cadillac’s largest offering.
Inside Line says: GM hopes the XTS will help keep some of Cadillac’s aging clientele in the fold.
